1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Rosetta Lab is operated by BlurHorizon, LLC ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Delaware, United States. Our postal address is 131 Continental Dr Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, United States; our email is contact@rosettalab.dev.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the following, together the "Services":
- rosettalab.dev, the Rosetta Lab website and its subdomains;
- Rosetta Intel at intel.rosettalab.dev, including its briefings, datasets, lookup tools and Insights;
- the Rosetta app for iOS and other Apple platforms;
- Rosetta Agent, the Rosetta command-line tools and any application programming interface (API) or API keys we issue;
- any other product, feature or service we release under the Rosetta name.
By using the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and "you" includes that organisation.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or subscribe. The Services are designed for security practitioners, researchers and organisations; they are not directed at children.
3. Your account
You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email verification code. One account is shared by all Rosetta services: signing in to one signs you in to the others. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping the email address and devices you use to sign in secure. Tell us promptly at contact@rosettalab.dev if you believe your account has been used without permission.
You may delete your account at any time from the account page in any Rosetta service or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, preferences, API keys and linked sign-in methods. Billing records are retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed only on the web through our payment processor, Stripe; the Rosetta app does not sell subscriptions and does not offer in-app purchases. Your entitlement is attached to your account and applies in every Rosetta service.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep access until then.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not prorate partial periods. If you believe you were charged in error, email us and we will put it right.
- If we offer a free trial, we will tell you its length and the price that applies afterwards before you start it.
- We may change prices. Changes apply from your next billing period and we will notify you in advance by email.
- Prices exclude taxes unless stated; applicable taxes are added at checkout.
5. The nature of our content
Rosetta Intel compiles and summarises publicly available information: vendor advisories, vulnerability catalogues, security research, news reporting, threat-indicator feeds and public trackers of ransomware leak sites. Much of the writing is produced automatically by AI systems from that material and is published without individual human review. Datasets mirror third-party sources on a schedule and may lag, omit or misreport what those sources contain.
You agree that:
- the content is provided for information and research and is not security, legal, financial or professional advice;
- content may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and you will verify it against primary sources before relying on it, especially before taking any action against a system, organisation or person;
- a listing in our datasets (for example, an IP address in an indicator feed, or an organisation named in a ransomware claim) is a report by the cited source, not a finding or accusation by us;
- our lookup tools query public datasets about the value you enter; they do not scan, probe or connect to the systems you ask about, and you must not describe or use them as if they did.
6. Information about third parties and requests for correction
Because the Services report on public security events, they name organisations, domains, addresses and software that appear in public sources. If you represent an organisation that is named and you believe an entry is inaccurate, misattributed or unlawfully published, write to contact@rosettalab.dev with the URL and the correction you request. We will review every request and respond within a reasonable time. We do not, as a matter of course, remove accurate records of public events, but we will correct errors, add context and honour removals required by law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:
- use the Services for anything unlawful, or to plan, support or carry out unauthorised access to any system;
- use the Services to harass, threaten or defame any person or organisation;
- crawl, scrape or bulk-download the Services other than through documented APIs and within the limits we publish, or circumvent rate limits, access controls, robots directives or crawler blocks;
- resell, sublicense or redistribute our content or data as a product or data feed, or present it as your own;
- share your account or API keys, or use another person's;
- interfere with the Services, probe or test their security without written permission, or introduce malicious code;
- remove notices of attribution or source from content you are permitted to quote.
If you find a security vulnerability in our Services, please report it to contact@rosettalab.dev. We welcome good-faith research conducted without disruption, data access beyond what is needed to demonstrate the issue, or public disclosure before we have had a reasonable chance to fix it.
8. Licence to use our content
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Services and to use their content for your own or your organisation's internal security work. You may quote short excerpts with a link and attribution to Rosetta Lab. Anything beyond that, including commercial redistribution, training machine learning models on our content, or building a competing data product, requires our written permission.
Content we cite remains the property of its original source and is subject to that source's terms. Open-source software we publish is licensed under the licence stated in its repository, which governs that software instead of this section.
9. APIs, API keys and the Rosetta Agent
Where we offer APIs, API keys or the Rosetta Agent and command-line tools, the following also applies: keys are issued to your account, are secret, and may be revoked by you at any time and by us if we detect misuse; we may set and change rate limits; and actions taken through a key or an authorised agent are treated as taken by you. Where the Agent can control systems you operate, you are solely responsible for what you authorise it to do and for the security of the systems it runs on.
10. The Rosetta app and app stores
The Rosetta app is licensed, not sold, to you for use on Apple devices you own or control, under these Terms. Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the extent any warranty applies and the app fails to conform to it, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to the app and may enforce them against you. You must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and any applicable third-party terms when using the app. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
11. Third-party services and links
The Services link to and rely on third parties: the sources we cite, sign-in providers (Apple, Google), our payment processor (Stripe) and hosting and email providers. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services, and your use of them is governed by their terms.
12. Changes, availability and termination
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, and may need to do so without notice for security or operational reasons. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services; where practical we will tell you first and, for paid subscriptions, refund any prepaid period you lose as a result of our discontinuing a service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15 and 16) do so.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Services will be accurate, complete, timely, secure or uninterrupted. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BlurHorizon, LLC and its officers, members, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to the Services, however caused and under any theory of liability. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the extent the law allows.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services in breach of these Terms or of the law, or from content you submit.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at contact@rosettalab.dev and to spend at least thirty days trying to resolve the dispute informally. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts, nothing here takes that right away.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we will post the new version here, update the date at the top, and for account holders notify you by email or inside the Services at least fourteen days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Services after that date means you accept the new Terms.
18. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of the business. Notices to you may be sent to the email address on your account. These Terms are written in English; translations we may provide are for convenience and the English version controls.
